How can I gain more weight while living in South Korea? Well, honestly I find it difficult to write a perfect title for this writing :”) . Here and now, I am planning to share about what I had done for 131 days in SK which by fact, giving me 2.5 kg of weight even though I did not eat much protein there(?). It is fairly hard to continue this paragraph tho. So, let me just start!

I have been a girl that has a constant weight ever since high school or for about these 5 years. My body just weighed 47.5 kg. For me, it is wonderfully-too-skinny and I always wish to have a bigger number shown on balance. I have a very fine schedule and menu in high school’s life for three years because the food was served as I lived in the dormitory. I also have a routine to do sport every weekend, but still I maintain to have around 47.5 kg. Then and there, for two years in college, I knew that my schedule was a kind of mess, but thanks, God, even i did not get more weight, at least I did not lose any. And my dream to be chubbier is getting further and uncertain. Meanwhile, you should know how surprised I was to find I have much more kg inside of my body after coming back home to Indonesia from South Korea. Happily, I spent about four months in a country that offers me a lot of food I could not eat as Moslem. Here is my conclusion how it might happen:
1 . Drink Abundant of Water
I exactly drink a lot of water every day! I traveled a lot on the weekend so another five days spent at a super-comfy dormitory where I could get water, both warm and cold easily in the kitchen on my floor. I believe it was because I spent much time watching videos and movies since the internet there was super-duper fast. While watching, I drank again and again, well maybe also because I had not many snacks left sadly.
I always have a good mood there, like always. I recognized I started it since I woke up in the morning. For sure, the first thing I do when I woke up is drinking water!!! another thing is -I am not really sure how to explain this, but maybe the weather influenced this to happen. Also, since people there love walking so much, much, much, likewise I should get used to it. So then again, unquestionably, I drink a lot while walking or traveling. The food there contained so much chili powders or spices that reliably make me feel a little bit unconfident if some might be left in my mouth or teeth. LOL. Nonetheless, it was really what happened to me! I drink a lot to make sure my mouth was clean enough so I could keep smiling and talking. I did not do this in Indonesia KKK
2 . Am I a VEGGIE ?
As a Moslem, I believe that I should not eat ham (pork) or any meat that was not processed by Moslem (was sliced/cooked without Allah’s name). So, I had no much choices except consuming tofu, vegetables, fruits, and seafood or in other words, I was being a vegetarian! I grew up with seafood basically, so as long as I could get seafood, it’s safe and sound! KKK
3 . I Love Sports, finally <3
I, in fact, don’t, KKK. Like my first point earlier, Koreans do lots of walking in their daily life. It’s so much dissimilar from me who did not love the sport even walking. However, I could not choose any else, there was no ojek (motorcycles-ride) or other cars except bus and subway which could move me to other places. Both transportations still take much of my energy in order to get them. I was not saying bus and subway were hard to find, it was just not as fast as I wish in reaching the station or bus stops. Taking taxis was one of the alternatives actually, but since I was so poor- I mean I need to be super-economic here, so it was no longer my choice. As the result, walking is a way to go! Even it’s hard at the beginning of the end, I was so accustomed to it and even still own this spirit till today, thank you!
4. My breakfast is…
In college, I am super lazy to prepare even a simple breakfast for myself. Well, most of the time I did not own much energy or time to do it. Luckily there, in SK, I was in fact still as lazy as before, but I had much leisure time before classes which forced me to take at least a piece of bread or a mouthful of milk to continue my day! Again as I got a little budget for living there, I just prepare cereals or fruits for my morning energy. I ate bananas or cereal with strawberries mostly. This country had offered the best strawberries I had ever since in my life plus c it was cheaper than my country’s. I also could not miss any time for Milk! Milk! Milk!
5. Enough Rest.
In the first week there, I totally missed the tough schedule as an engineering student! In SK, I took classes in business and language major which were absolutely different to me. To tell you the truth, I did really truly certainly enjoyed every single minute in the classrooms. I always got assignments to do every time, but hey, I never felt as happy and excited as these time when doing homework:’) I saw no numbers but words! I made speech and articles, practiced public-speaking and Korean conversation and also writing hangul. I was so into this stuff! But still, again, I got a lot of time to take a rest. I did not get any pressure there as I could do all tasks well enough and had no students organization meeting then I could always go to bed with smiles and good memories of the fine days.
6 . THE MAIN REASON
No matters what you eat, drink or exercise in a day, you might not be as healthy as someone that did all that too plus being happy! I got much time to rest, socialize, shop, travel, browse, and learn things I am passionate about are the real reasons for my healthier self. I always hope that I can maintain this spirit inside in Indonesia! Kkkkk
Thank you for spending your several minutes to read my writings. I wish nothing but the good things you may receive after reading. Drop me some comments will amazingly make my day better and for sure, my next writing better! Share me your works too, dear you <3
